Manuel (Manny) A. Mencia, is Sr. Vice President and Chief Operating
Officer of the International Trade and Business Development unit
of Enterprise Florida, Inc. Enterprise Florida, Inc. (EFI) is a

The mission
of EFI is to support business growth and assist companies in the

Trade and Business Development unit is headquartered in Miami and
maintains offices in six Florida cities as well as fourteen countries

Bastien
Yamilee Bastien is a diplomat in the US Foreign Commercial Service
currently serving a domestic tour at the Miami US Export Assistance
Center
Before joining
the U.S. Commercial Service, lived and worked in over a dozen countries.
She has worked as a small business advisor and trainer with international
organizations, including the United Nations, and with several Federal
government agencies, such as the State Department, US Agency for
International Development (USAID), and the U.S. Peace Corps.
Yamilee was
born in Washington, DC and grew up in Miami, FL. She received her
B.A. in International Relations (with a certificate in Latin American
and Caribbean Studies) from Florida International University (FIU).
She spent her first year of graduate school in Bologna, Italy and
earned her M.A. in International Law and International Economics
from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International
Studies (SAIS).
She will start
her next overseas assignment in Fall 2010 in Brazil.

Cook
Ms. Cook entered the Foreign Commercial Service in March 2009 with
seven years experience at the Dept of Commerce headquarters in the
Market Access and Compliance Division. For Broward and Miami-Dade
counties, Ms. Cook covers the professional services portfolio. In
Broward, she also works with the apparel and textiles, industrial
chemicals, and plastics sectors.
Previously,
Ms. Cook served as the Desk Officer for Paraguay and lead program
manager for the Good Governance Program, an anti-corruption program
in seven countries in Latin America. In that role, she worked with
local business associations and government officials to build private/public
sector coalitions that promote transparency and corporate responsibility.
She also held leadership roles in several high-profile initiatives,
such as the 2007 and 2008 Americas Competitiveness Forum, which
attracted over 800 public and private sector participants from 30+
countries, including three Latin American heads of state; and the
U.S.-Brazil CEO Forum, in which 20 leading CEOs in the U.S. and
Brazil gave industry-specific policy recommendations to Presidents
Bush and Lula. Ms. Cook started her career at Commerce as a Program
Officer for the Inter-American E-Business Fellowship Program.
Prior to Commerce,
Ms. Cook served for over two years in Turkmenistan as a U.S. Peace
Corps Volunteer, and worked in the non-profit and academic sectors

About the speaker:
Ms. Musico, is a Senior Principal overseeing the healthcare marketing
and business development efforts at TLC Engineering for Architecture.
At 400 people, TLC is one of the largest MEP and Structural Engineering
firms in the country leading the healthcare design industry, over
30% of firm overall projects are in the healthcare market. In addition
to hospitals and medical centers, TLC designs free standing emergency
surgery centers, ambulatory care centers, medical office buildings,
cancer centers, imaging centers and senior housing. Major healthcare
systems are represented in their portfolio, including Florida Hospital
Health System, Adventist Health, Community Health System, Baylor,
Orlando Health, Ascension Health, Baptist Health South Florida,
Catholic Health Initiatives, and Health First.
